John Deere R dimensions and questions

Hello All,

I am considering purchasing a 1954 JD R. My first concern is do I have a building large enough to store it. . . I've looked at tractordata and have some specs, but I am hoping someone here would be kind enough to measure the length, width and height of their tractor for me. Particularly the height at the top of the stack so I know what sort of clearances are necessary.

Secondly, what is a tractor like this in non running condition worth? I know that it is worth what I am willing to pay and dependent on condition, but I am wondering if a ballpark would be $1500, $2500, $5000, $8000??? I'd be interested in opinions please!

Thank you!

Joe

Just put the tape on my '53......86" wide, 80" tall, & 144" long. As far price, there are too many variables to put a good number on it. Post a picture and might be able to give you a ballpark $.

I get 79" wide, 144" long and 80" to stack. I like the mag on the pony better than the coils on the v4 pony.
