JD Mower Deck

I am a Farmall guy, but am trying to help a friend repair his JD LA115 mower. I need some advice where to find a used 42" mower deck, part No. GY 21027 (I think). A new deck costs $630 and my friend does not have that kind of $$$. Any help you can offer would be most appreciated.

Plenty of those mowers around used at good prices as many of them the rear hydros are bad in them.
You can also do a lot of repairs to those decks. How bad is it ?

You will find most LA series tractor have deck issues. The decks are lightly built for the market they are designed for. You will need to find the exact mower as the deck belt system only fits a few models on them.

Look on EBay and craigslist. You need to find one off a mower with a power train issue. That should not be too hard as the hydros where known to die if the owners mowed a lot of really steep ground.
