Is this possible? The brakes on this tractor when applied feel a little weak. When pressing harder on the pedal, the brakes will lock the the wheels immediately. When the pedal is released, a loud "bang" or "pop" noise comes from the axle housing.
The brake pedals are firm and brakes have been bleed, hydraulic oil meets J20D specifications, filter and suction screen have no sign of brake material or metal on, or in them.
A neighbor mentioned years ago, Deere had an update kit for the brake valve installed on his 3020 and helped with modulation of the pedal pressure. Is there a service bulletin out for this issue?
The only other thing that comes to mind is that the brake pads are glazed and hard and grabbing the brake disc ineffectively. Is this a possibility? I know wet clutch discs will glaze and slip in transmissions.
Thanks for any replies!!
