I am looking at an MT. It has the narrow front and the rear axle is about 9? wide. Is this what they called a vegetable special? If so are they
more rare or worth more? Just don?t want to over pay. Thanks for any help.

"[b:654c4848f0][i:654c4848f0]the rear axle is about 9? wide[/i:654c4848f0][/b:654c4848f0]"

Take a look at the [b:654c4848f0]FINAL DRIVE - - Continued Model MT[/b:654c4848f0] description below.

Note that the long rear axle shaft (9 ft) was available for all MTs.

Note that the short rear axle shaft (7 ft) became available on tractor number [b:654c4848f0]29242[/b:654c4848f0] produced in mid 1949.

A long rear axle shaft would probably not be considered "[i:654c4848f0]rare[/i:654c4848f0]" on any year model MT; especially those made before tractor [b:654c4848f0]29242[/b:654c4848f0].

Hope this helps.

I have seen more than 1 MT where someone cut the 9 ft axles down actually. My MT had them and I didn't consider them a rare option. They were a great option if you plan on doing any actual cultivating with the tractor though.
