4640 Inside rear view mirror mounting

I bought the inside rear view mirror bracket (R81817) that mounts on the right front cab post. I see there are two dimples on the front of that post- are they plugs, or do I need to drill them out to mount the mirror bracket?

The parts schematic shows two 5/16" bolts with nuts holding the bracket to the cab post, but I only want to know if the holes are already there, or if I need to drill them.

Thank you!

Considering that capscrew(19H1813) in 4640 parts catalog has standard threads my guess is holes in cab post that mirror bracket attaches to are threaded

On my 4440 they were not threaded I used thin nuts held in between trim with a wrench on
the outside. Then short bolts go in from the inside Mine were 3/8 bolts

OOPS I overlooked that nuts are listed in parts catalog so evidently holes aren't threaded as m w J stated.

Thank you all.

As a follow-up, I found that the holes were not threaded. However, the outside rear view mirror bracket for the right side of the cab is attached at that point, and it is threaded.

I assume that with no outside mirror, one would use nuts on the outside cab pillar. I attached the inside mirror bracket with longer bolts than what were there, and they threaded into the outside mirror bracket. So, I have the inside bracket and outside bracket sandwiching the cab post with two 5/16" x 1" cap screws. Everything feels very solid.

I also learned that the easiest way to deal with installing those brackets was to take out the right side cab window.

Thank you all for your insight!
