Howdy to all, I just got me a 750 crawler dozer. I saved to get one for a good 9 years and got a 1979 750. it runs ok but needs some work for sure. I have a problem. the track adjuster seal is leaking grease out of the retainer there is an o-ring that JD supplied R86192, but it does not look like there is a spot for the durned thing. I sure would take kindly to any help that you all might have for me. Thank you kindly

A few things that may help.

First, you will likely get more views and responses if you post your question in the "Crawlers, Dozers, Loaders and Backhoes Forum"; rather than on this forum (John Deere) which is more on the agricultural side. More folks with your type of equipment hang out there. It might help if your title said 750 track adjuster leaking grease.

In looking at the parts catalog it looks like there may have been a serial number change, and that O-ring shows in a "box" in the parts drawing, so the O-ring may or may not be needed on your machine. Did the dealer give you the parts based on the your serial number? Have you asked the dealer about it? If you don't know about John Deere's free on line parts catalogs you can access your machine's parts catalog (should be PC 1884) on line at: JDParts Homepage. That will give you an exploded view, of the adjuster parts, if you don't have one.

Do you have the technical (service) manual TM 1136 and the operator's Manual OM T76786? These manuals, the technical in particular would likely help you with this question. These can be purchased at www.johndeeretechinfo.com/. You can purchase them as downloads, so you can have them quickly. They are also available there in print, CD, and DVD versions. If you plan on having the machine for a time to come, it is worth investing in the manuals.

Sorry I haven't really answered your question, but hope this helps some.
