lon, you wrote this in my last post about the A:

BTW, the A was built in late '37, because of the cast-in implement mounting rings in the front pedestal, the 12 spline rear axles, the deep "bucket" seat, and not shown but probably there, a guide on the other side of the hood to keep the shutter rod from vibrating. The serial # should be between 460000 and 466787. My A, 458xxx was built in August of '37.

The cast in mounting rings got our attention. Are these the rings you are referencing?

Here's a shot of the right side showing the guide for the shutter rod.

Terry's oldest daughter, on her dads '37A, leading 22 tractors and the funeral procession to her dads final resting place.

Yes, those are the ones. The changes I mentioned took place at serial #460000. FWIW, I knew the guy that had 460000, but I don't know where it is now. It was sold on his estate sale.

My '37 has the same shutter rod arrangement, but without the clip. I found out the hard way that I needed to remove the rod when trailering to a show. It made a wear spot in the paint!

Kerry, this photo (of a different series) will give you an idea of how they could be used to attach bracing for a cultivator.

Everything checks on the late '37 A it seems except for that clutch lever. It has a lot more angle than would be on SN's greater than 460XXX. It looks like a pre 460XXX.
