Ignition switch voltage jd 1020

Welcome to YT
1st thing I'd recommend is clean/tighten all 4 battery cable connections. Have you had battery load tested? My guess is regulator isn't causing ign switch to loose voltage.

Yes everything has been checked, new battery, alternator and terminals. 12 volts plus with key in off position. When turned to on voltage goes away

My next guess would be a faulty battery cable that's corroded inside of insulation therefore not making connection under electrical load.

That was my first thought too TJ but he loses voltage w/o any significant load.

Maybe a bad connection at the starter or frame ground? Have you checked both ends of the battery cables not just the battery end? I don't have a schematic but doesn't the positive battery cable go to the starter solenoid terminal; then a smaller wire goes from the solenoid terminal to the switch/circuit breaker? If so; with the tractor in neutral or park can you jump the starter at the solenoid and get it to turn over? If it turns over I would be looking at the smaller power wire that goes from the battery cable terminal of the solenoid to the switch, or circuit breaker which ever is first, then follow the power to the switch. If not, I would be looking hardest at the cables and starter.

I just remembered that factory frame ground(-) cable attaches to battery box which I suggest to relocate to starter mounting bolt.

FYI it ended up being the fuel shut off solenoid.any way to bypass it???

Nozzle & seat from a 2010 gasoline carb will fit or other tractors with same type carb.
