SRV, John Deere 4240

I have been running a dump box today with my 4240 and have an issue with both SRV's.

The left SRV will raise the dump box just fine, but it will not allow me to lower the dump box (double acting cylinder). If I hook it up to the right SRV it will raise and lower the dump box but it is slow...
I tried it on two different dump boxes and both had the same issue. I have used these same dump boxes last year with no problem.
I mostly run a baler with this tractor and regardless of which SRV I use I never had a problem with my 348 baler. I baled hay a few days ago with no issue.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I presume when you state SRV you're referring to SCV(selective control valve). Do yo have valve flow set on "rabbit"? Since SCV operated cyl on baler I'll suggest to change male coupler tips on dump box. I also presume that you have oil control levers under breakaway couplers turned out 90° after tips have been inserted.

Yes I meant SCV's, it was a long day...

They are on "Rabbit", the levers are turned 90 degrees.
Not ,my first time hooking up a hydraulic hose, been hooking hydraulic hose for 50 years or so.

I have no idea by reading your post how experienced a tractor operator that you are!! Only way I know to attempt to help you is by trying to fill in the "blanks" by asking questions. Sometimes as one ages they forget to do things correctly as they have in the past. I've been operating tractors for over 60 yrs & sometimes don't do things correctly.
I hope you have a nice day,Jim

If problem is present on All SCV's the most likely cause would be a male tip on a hose end is flow checking. Change out the male tip that is letting oil back into tractor when lowering and see if problem goes away. DW
