If a 730 gas is getting transmission fluid in crankcase and is not going in threw right main were else might it be getting in there from.

also and most likely the double seal on main that keeps transmission grease from going into the crankcase has gone bad...I would also check for loose or worn main bearing....

You'd have to pull the pedestal and look at the dividing section of the housing. The older friend of mind said sometime a rod would be thrown and he had to braze some of the tractors....this might be a reach but could possibly be a reason...any history on the tractor?

I had same problem, it was a o ring seal small about the size of a dime. between the main bering housing and the main case where a oil line comes to the main bearing clutch side. Bunch of work for a .10 cent o ring.

Per last post trying to figure the oil ring out. Understand what it is ….however how does this let transmission gear oil into the crankcase...."maybe it was left out and it seeps in there"....not understanding....I spoke to Rick last night and suggested that he revisit the oil seals....as they go back to back with lip exposed...JD used to have combined seal on the main but they went to two seals on the last one I worked with....anyway...trying to help but puzzled.....

say what about motor oil in transmission? That's something I've never heard anyone mention in 60 years? Better wear a moon suit around the pulley area.
