5065e Remote Quick Disconnects very difficult

Hi,

I have a 2016 5065e with rear remotes. I am having a difficult time connecting and disconnecting my baler. The quick disconnects are so stiff I can't get them apart.

I have Pioneer 8010-4 male ends on the baler. I went to my local JD deaaler and they said it's the correct male end, but I need to be very agressive to disconnect. Both were replaced under warranty, but still the same problem. I called Parker who makes the JD side of the disconnect and they told me basically the same thing.

Anyone else having issues with these quick disconnects? Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Ken

My 5083e is also hard to disconnect. Make sure the pressure is bleed off the system. Give a good push and pull.

Shut the tractor off and work the SCV lever to release the pressure off the coupler. Your tractor is a BASE model. It does not have the higher level couplers that release easier under pressure. It is all a cost thing. More features cost more money. So you have basically the older style coupler we had in earlier tractors. You learned real quick to dump the pressure off before hooking or unhooking. Even in float the tractor will have some pressure on the couplers.

My 5105 loader connects are just a push in and pull out. Took the loader off once and got them out. Could not get them back in ! Ended up removing them and taking them apart and cleaned them up. Then it worked really good. Next time the may be junked up again and not work by then ? IIRC JD sold a different style for replacements but I didn't want to spend the money on them.

I bailed hay again yesterday and followed the advice about shutting down the tractor and moving the SCV lever to releive the pressure in the lines. It worked. I was able to pull both lines without too much effort.

I also called Parker, the quick disconnect manufacturer. A gentleman returned my call, who actually created the specifications for the connectors. He was very helpful. I think he said it should take about 69 lbs of force to disconnect. He also said just pull, no need to push in before pulling, I don't know where I got that I needed to push in first.

He mentioned the 5065e was an economy tractor and did not have an SCV that would allow for easy bleed off of pressure.

Basically, all the forum responses were confirmed by the guy at Parker.

I wanted to thank you all for the input. I'm back up and running again.

Thanks,
Ken
