Recently had considerable interaction with another member and have thoroughly enjoyed trying to help. This has brought to mind a concept that was presented by a veteran John Deere repairman and more importantly close friend now deceased. His thoughts on any repair or project was only to disturb the absolute least amount of items or equipment to make the necessary repairs. He had a finesse that I really can't explain. He used a wrench just like a surgical tool. He never made work out of a project and almost unknowingly he would have it done. He confided in me but he never would openly give away mechanics trade secrets. I think the main secret was his skill. He upgraded with suggestions a lot of the tractors by attending national and regional meetings. He also confided in me with knowledge of several of the tractors that never should have been manufactured, however I will spare feelings on this forum. Anyway I sure miss him and another of my best friend who was a millwright and could mike out any problem or use a file instead of a machine shop. Talent is rapidly disappearing. Let's develop some new.
