I think No.5 mower mount for a JD Model H tractor. Can someone confirm? Home made or factory? Work with tractor Models B, A, or G too?

Bob, Thanks.

For some reason I sure don't understand not being computer guru, every time I try to go to an old JD parts book pdf it blows my computer's mind. A "force quit" to escape the mess isn't even possible. I have yo manually shut it off and it later objects to that approach, but there's nothing else I can do. I have learned that I am much better off not attempting a Deere parts pdf. No other pdf I have attempted gives me that problem. Even knowing all that, I foolishly attempted to go the the link you so graciously provided. Same old thing, things blew up.

So, would you help me even a bit more and post the pertinent stuff you found on the pages you referenced?

Thanks, lfnel

Go to JDParts Homepage and try the "new" parts catalog. In the catalog search model number box enter 5 for a search, then select the 5-Mower, Sickle - PC466 from the options that have 5 in them. It is the same catalog but opens differently and may work for you.

Jim, Thanks. I dislike that site so much that I hadn't gone there for the old stuff, but on your advice, I did anyway in spite of my dislike. Uureka! It works without killing my computer. Unfortunately, I couldn't spot the parts there. It looks a bit like part #6 on page 10-4, but that's described as a spring, and the parts I have are anything but springs. I'm kinda suspecting these brackets might have been part of or listed as a separate bundle and thus not in the parts book. Unfortunately the index for the #5 mower goes no further than the beginning of the "L's", so "mounting bracket" which would be under the "M's" is missing.

Oh, somehow I did fail to mention that these brackets were bolted to either side of the drawbar support on a '41 Model H tractor when I bought it about 15 year ago. I recently sold the tractor so will have no use for them.

Note items 1A and 3A under the "H" listing on 55-5.

It can be a pain, and I don't always use it, but as it doesn't load the same as the older one, sometimes it loads to the computer better. It looks like just a difference in lay out. They are there. 5th drawbar extension group down in the index shows the H. Same pages Bob posted, 55-5. Glad you got the info.

Jim, Bob: Sounds like we're in Oklahoma doesn't it! Anyway, thanks for the help. I now find them as parts Z8819H, l.h. and Z8818H r.h. Sure 'nuf, used in mounting the #5 to an H JD. Now, anybody need them enough to pay shipping or bothering to stop by Cedar Falls, Ia to pick them up.

Ifnel, I would LOVE to have them.
