Spides in my shop, ..Help

I posted awhile back about the spiders in my shop, I got a reply from someone on what to use and I used it and it worked great, But can't remember what it was. Shop is enclosed with a concrete floor.

Get some chickens and let them free range outside the shop. No more spiders..... Those buggers eat all kinds of bugs! Plus free eggs! :)

Years ago I sprayed some with chevvy orange engine paint, thinking it would kill them. The next day they were all back on their webs again . A friend came over & as he was visiting, he took 3 steps backwards & his eyes got real big! He asked What the he!! kind of spiders do you have here!?

Bifenthrin should work and is sold as Bifen or Talstar. Does not cost much.
Safe enough to use in homes and restaurants.

Well, I don't kill spiders in my shop - they eat a LOT of bugs (I do go around and 'stick down' the webs - got about 3/4" of web wound around 2 sticks). BUT, I manage a property that has a barn type boathouse (that I built) with an alarm system. Got called out a couple of times at 3 AM because the alarm went off. Turned out to be spider webs in front of the sensors. Ladder and some generic bug spray (abundant doses) solved the problem. Now when I inspect I just spray the beejesus at all the sensors.

Demon (cypermethrin) or generic permethrin are both sold at my local Tractor Supply and would work great. As mentioned, bifenthrin, too. Any insecticide ending in "thrin" is a synthetic pyrethroid which will have good activity and be as safe as anything out there. Last time I used Demon, it was still being packaged in water-soluble pouches just made to mix in 1 gallon of water (or you could double it or cut it to mix a 2x or 0.5x rate) Really handy since you don't have to measure it or touch the product.
