Got a JD 5085M that will go to white smoke when at operating temperature and with a load. Example teddar for 300feet and the the smoke and low power. Idle and exhaust clears and you can go for a short distance and smoke again. Fuel tank drained and new fuel added, filters changed. Is it injection pump timing , or a bad muffler or anything else. Thanks Tim

How many hours???? What kind of history??? I have seen the newer tractors have the injectors junked at low hours caused by bad fuel or water in the fuel. They operate at higher pressures and tighter nozzles. This gets the to burn cleaner but is makes them easy to ruin with contaminates.

I'm not a big fan of adding "magic mouse milk" to fuel, but you might get some known good quality injector cleaner from your JD dealer and try adding that to fuel following instructions - after you are sure there's no water in fuel and known good, fresh fuel is put in.
