I have a chance to buy a ?30GP. The restoration looks good and sounds good running in a video that was sent to me. He does mention that the transmission has a whining sound when driving. I?m curious if this is typical with this model. I have a ?42AW that whines slightly on tractor rides in ?Hi? range going up hill so I understand the amount of whine is subjective to who hears it. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

I have a 1931 big bore that makes a little whining noise in tranny when pulling hills, but as Mark says it's pretty normal with something that old.
Will share a couple pictures of mine. Would like to get an idea what the GP's are going for these days. Not enough I'm sure. Lol
I love the GP's but they are slower than the D I think. Not good for tractor rides!!

My 1930 GP is pretty noisy in the primary gears on the right hand side going into the tranny. I plan to check it out some day and see if it could be fixed. Simple spur gears that are worn get noisy and maybe I could make a new set of replacement gears.
