Tractor pullers!!!

I have a customer with an early 4010 diesel that he can't justify
refurbishing.
Has the lighter transmission case. Would be ideal for an alcohol
burner.
If anyone knows someone who is into pulling those classes let me know.
 
I had heard that there are light and heavy final drives. I’ve never been ambitious enough to weigh them.

Never heard anything about the case being lighter. They are about an inch shorter and a bit lighter than a 4020 trans case.
 
R26410 and R28560 Apparently there was a problem with
the earlier one so they made them some heavier.
 
Final drives or housings? There is a difference in housings depending
on long or regular axles. There were two casting numbers for each so
perhaps a little heavier. None as heavy as a 4020.
Tractor pullers ask for casting numbers.
There are two castings for transmission cases. Apparently there were failures
with the early ones so were made a little stronger.
Pullers like the light stuff.
Problem is the pullers I know are considering quitting. Wasted a lot of money
and thought they were having fun but are now changing their minds. Getting older??
