Deere PS 4440 with no hydrauylics to 3 Pt. SCV's or PTO

Hi Fellas,

My 88 Year old neighbor has a really nice old JD 4440 that has lost all of its hydraulics. We cleaned the screen, replaced the filters and fluid. There was a lot of debris in the screen, looked like brake pad material and the filters were dirty. Steering, seat and brakes seem ok. There was a lot of emulsified looking milky fluid in it when we changed it but its all clear now. The module behind the right hand SCV has a large bolt in the top that looks like it rides on a ball valve. It appears a little worn on the end where it would ride on the ball valve inside, its chamber was full of emulsified fluid where all the other was clear. Any ideas at all on where to start troubleshooting this? thanks in advance for your help.

. Any idea of what kind of transmission oil may have been used ? Was the tractor parked outside in the rain ? How long has it sat? What area of the country to know the climate .

Hi,

Yes, it moves forward and reverse fine. It has the PowerShift Transmission. Plenty of clean fluid and filters. Metal screen right behind filters cleaned also.

Hi,

It has not sat for long without being run. It did sit outside in the rain for a few days prior to noticing the emulsification of fluid in the Hydraulic system. We live in Northwest Arkansas, hot and humid now. Thanks so much for the reply. Any ideas?

Jerry
