john deere 6600 combine

I have my late Great Uncles John Deere 6600 combine, It has been in a shed for 20 years, and now has to be gone. My question is , is it worth Anything at all or just call the scrap guy? I am located central Illinois and would pretty much take anything for it. Thanks

Depending If there is any small farms in your area it
might be worth a little To the right guy . If the tires
are good they would be worth something .

I bought a decent 7700 T w/ 6 row cornhead that had actually been used last fall. The owner was taking it to a consignment sale about 1/2 mile from metal salvage yard and the steering was all over the road so weighed it up at $100 per ton and it weighed 21000 so it brought $1050 salvage yard called and wanted $1500 so I bought it.If your combine has the 404 as stated it is a perfect fit in 4020.I sold cornhead separate and motor ran good and it also sold and rest went to tractor salvage yard. I called the 3yards within the state I knew and took highest bid and they came and got it.Email is open if you want more info.

If it is in pretty good condition then advertise it in a regional newspaper. Maybe Lancaster Farming where the Mennonites will see it. Not a lot of demand in the East for
it but that is your best chance most likely.

They are not fun to drive with the header off . Mine without the header wanders like mad but with the head on it?s a different story . Even the gleaner R62 I have been running doesn?t drive straight with the head off

It?s to bad these old machines are worth anything
but I guess in ten years I could take mine to a
tractor show and not get laughed right off the place .
Remember when old implements weren?t anything
anybody wanted ? Now people are tired of seeing
lines of parked trailer queens and they want to see
a tractor working
