420 JD Under Load

My recently purchased 420 while going up a steep hill runs fine as long as RPM is under 1300. Minute I raise RPM higher while still going up hill tractor skips and sputters. Plugs look fine but I will replace with new. Any suggestions are welcomed.

Does the tractor run okay on flat ground at full throttle? If it does I'd be looking at the fuel system. Is the tank full, is the flow good to the carb., is the float level okay?

Turn your load adjustment needle (on the bottom of the carb) out (counterclockwise) one full turn and see what happens.
