1967 JD400 industrial brake problem

I read a Post from 2006 I found from Stan Garrett saying there is a possible check valve in the reverser stuck open causing the brake pedals to pump the fluid back into the tractor
transmission area. ? I took off cap to brake housing, filled with fluid, pumped and fluid emptied, went somewhere ?> I have read alot of post on this and there seems to be a problem
going back into tranmsission, what im not seeing is what was the fix. I completely took apart the brake housing and cleaned the whole thing, I have received input from previous posts
and thank the folks for that. just wondering before I put housing back on if theres a quick check on reverser housing i can do. >? which plug etc can i remove to drain fluid , etc
Thanks again in advance for everyones help

re-fill it with fluid and cap the 2 brake lines and see if you get a good pedal,, my guess is the brakes are leaking back in the final drive piston...
