has any one used clutch facings and the single bonded disc from steiner ? the facing discs are thinner than I was expecting , also the bonded disc facings and the metal between them is also thinner and they are glued on - not riveted. called them they said they have sold over 500 of them and not one has failed. just wondering ?

About 5 years ago I got the clutch disks and the bonded disk from Steiners for my G. I could not get all the new parts in together because they were too thick. I reused one of the floaters from the original to get it together.

I've seen several complaints over on the 2cyl facebook page about the same thing. People driving themselves nuts because they could not get their clutch to adjust and snap in and out correctly. same issue. The aftermarket uses " aftermarket" measuring devices apparently.

No, I have not used STP clutch discs, if the parts do not meet your expectations send them back, I certainly would. I have used one supplier for my clutch parts, they are
excellent quality parts and look like the ones here put in my 80. Can not get the web sight to work but did find an article in Farm Show magazine about them.

Clutch parts

Thanks for letting us know, I've went head on with Steiners about some of their parts also, ending up returning them and going elsewhere. I was going to try a clutch rebuilding place for some thicker material for the linings but haven't done that yet. I have doubled up the outer linings to make the clutch snap and to make up for the worn steel parts. chris

I would be REAL LEARY of a doubled up floating lining ! Good chance one of them might drop out of place and wedge your clutch full on and then you could wreck !
