If your tractor is a '41 (S/N 20615 or later) and the donor tractor is at least S/N 17634 or later, there shouldn't be any problem. Before those serial numbers, there were a number of internal changes to the transmission that involved what parts to use - in fact, there were four different kits for adding Power Shafts to "H" tractors prior to S/N 17635. And, there were more kits made available when the 1-3/8" diameter shaft was introduced in 1944. There's nothing difficult about it - just oily and messy and time consuming. You have to pull the sliding gear shaft left bearing housing out to permit installation of the bevel drive gear and clutch collar, install the shifting yoke on the Power Shaft shifter shaft (looks like a big capscrew on the LH side of the case), set bearing and gear backlash clearances, etc. etc., etc.

Deere furnished an instruction sheet (Dir. 263) that described the installation process for S/N 10000 and up.

As buickanddeere stated, it's best to have a parts book at hand so that you can tell what you actually need....
