If I took a 4020 in for a clutch / flywheel replacement
at a Deere dealership how much approximately am I
look at for cost?

You could spend $5000 at a dealer. The last 4020 I did was $2000 and that included all new clutch parts(reman plates and fingers)2 new discs and throwout bearings, labor and a new rear engine seal.New aftermarket flywheel should be around $500.Loader makes very little difference as most shops just roll the back half away. I do several a year for neighbors. Tom

It actually is a Chinese flywheel. It has many spider heat cracks and shows signs of warping. High blue spots. Ridges that form spokes outward. Have not seen anything like that and for $400 dollars for a USA built one ( that what they told me) I am not taking that risks. Seen a broken flywheel knock a hole in a bell housing once.

Just a normal looking woven one. Now the disk looked newish, but the rest looked not the same! So the answer is it could of had one earlier. Pressure plate broke .

One of the things you can get into on older 3020/4020 clutches is if the fly wheel got turn too many times the pressure plate will hit in the outer radius of the fly wheel and not put full pressure on the clutch plate,,, they will sorta work for a bit then slip badly...and on most of them they have been turned a few times for sure...

Was this a Deere dealer or a individual professional that performed this replacement? Shopping
around can save big bucks I have seen.
