A Behlen Power Steering

We have an A with the Behlen power steering setup driven by a Behlen pump behind the distributor. It is only making 500# of pressure instead of the around 1000# the system needs. Anyone aware of any places to get info on how to troubleshoot the pump (not the thing on the steering shaft but the thing behind the dizzy)

I bought this book for mine. Don't have it installed yet - hopefully this winter project.

Yeah, we have that.

It is more about the factory setup on an IH that didn't use an add-on pump, there isn't anything about the distributor driven pump in there.

If your pump is shot you can put JD live pump on and it will work good. need a pump email me

I have a download that I can't figure out where it came from. It has info about the distributor pump (as does the Steiner book). If you want me to e-mail this to you, send me your contact info and I'll get on it. As a photo attachment, it doesn't read very good - not sure it would be any better in an e-mail.
