Model A Coil

My coil went bad so I ordered one up from Roberts. The old coil had the coil bar molded into it, but the new ones come without the bar. I was told that I could drive the old bar out and put it in the new coil. Was wondering if this is normal practice? Do I just slide the bar into the new coil or do I need to epoxy it in. What is the best way?
Thanks.

If that bar has swelled from rust between the plies then it is no good either. Just make sure it is flat and smooth on both sides and slide it right in like Mark said.
