My 2020 leaks hyrdaulic oil out of the top of the steering shaft. Blows right past the seal.

How hard is it to rebuild the shaft? I attached a picture of the rebuild kit from Mother Deere

Not too bad. The 6 o-rings(parts key #4) are the worst part to install. The o-rings can be R&R'd while housing remains attached to tractor if you're a GOOD shade tree mechanic.

VERY IMPORTANT:If you disassemble main shaft keep a good mental note of how the shims/valves are assembled

Two of the same problems back to back. Unusual.
I've never tried to install the orings on the tractor. I have a hard enough time with it off.

I've never witnessed o-ring R&R with valve in place but read about it on this forum a while back about someone doing it without removal of housing. I agree R&R of the o-rings can be as contrary as ex-wife.

Alrighty I'll get after it and see how bad I can mess it up :? :D

Never torn one apart before so this may be interesting. I'll take pictures to help my pea brain remember the order of stuff. Wish me luck...
