Thinking about trying to reverse a 4630 powershift for a loader and snowblower tractor. Iknow of a 4010 and 4020 and even a 5020 that this has been done to. Do you know if a 4630 will work for this. Thank you

Are you going to swing the cab around ? I have never thought about it,,but I'm sure it can happen..you can probably get all 8 spds to work in reverse to if you modify the shifter...you got me thinking now...maybe "not" turning the cab would be better,, I'm thinking about the door entry issues that would not work out,,and leaving the console in place,,re-plumb the steer valve and pedals,,,but your feet would be where the rock shaft covers are beside the seat*****OOh my we would need to do some drawing on this for a bit...I think it would be easier to put tracks on a 60....

On a 4020 you can turn the differential over in the rear end and get 8 reverse and 4 foward can you do it in a 4630?

I have been messing around with some of these Ideas..(It keeps my mind off Wild Women and liquor

..it is possible to flip the differential on a power shift, but on a Sychro Range the trans pump is in the way,,and when you do the flip, there is no room for the load shaft cam arm,,,so my thoughts are to eliminate all the load shaft stuff, but I want to keep my 3pt. ( I have visions of a 4 bottom roll-over plow) and plumb a separate valve into the rockshaft cylinder for the control.I don't think the load control system will be missed for these applications. In my thoughts on this it is for a 'Possible' 4020C, and the direction of power rotation will need to be reversed to meet up with the 550 Deere final drives. This is still gonna take a lot of thinking...I thought about this Darn 60C for a couple years before I started making parts,,and a couple times I was thinking that the Wild Women and Liquor were going to win out:^)

I was thinking flip the differential over, and getting rid of the load control and such. Maybe make the blower fit on the loader? and thought about seeing if a combine cab from a 7720 or such could be made to work.Are there 8 reverse speeds in it are they locked out by the quadrant like some of the synchs?

Yes, the reverse shift linkage locks out the upper 4.

I would be more inclined to start with a rough terrain fork lift. I sorry I don’t know the numbers 301s? As it’s already turned around for you. It would be easier to put a cab and snow blower on that tractor than turn around the 4630. Just something to think about.
