John Deere Model 45 Loader w/ Snow Blade (PICTS)

I thought I would share what I picked up this past weekend for the collection. I went to the local automotive swap meet and found this nice John Deere Model 45 loader with not only the Manure bucket but also the snow blade. The guy selling it said that he had it on his John Deere 60. My plan is to put it on my 1956 John Deere 60 and use it to push snow and pick things on and off the trailers. I think its in pretty good shape and will come in handy around here! Bought it for $250 delivered! Seller was asking for $400 so was able to talk him down a bit. I'm not too familiar with these loaders, and the seller was telling my the snow blade attachment was an option that could be had. Is that correct then? He also said the added flat metal around the spears and sides on the manure bucket was an option too. Is that correct? I think its a nice addition to the collection, something that will come in handy and I've been wanting one of these loaders for awhile so all the better!

Thanks for reading!

Yes it was an option, we have a 46A new loader and we have the snow bucket part on it. Had a guy out to place this fall from the south and he could not get over how wide bucket was. Dad said it was called snow bucket and he just left it on that way but years ago he could make it smaller manure bucket if he wanted.

the metal around the bucket was for sloppy manure. It can be removed, slides off, for stuff with more fiber. I have a #35 loader on a 430. My uncle put a "materials bucket" on it that was supposed to be used with light stuff, shavings or something. It is 5 feet wide and works great with snow but you can overload it with dirt. It too will slide off and leve you with just the forks.

The snow bucket, material bucket, cob bucket, is my most used bucket. Very easy to over load being 80 inches wide. That is why those brackets in your bucket get all bent up. I should know about over loading them.......

This is what I should use it for but I sure move fire wood with it more efficiently than anything else.

Think I have all the options now except the boom.

Nice looking tractors and buckets. I have the same problem with my JD 4450 with a 96in bucket I had custom made in Michigan. I wanted a wider bucket to be able to backfill and cover the rear and front wheel tracks. I am very careful with fill dirt and sand loading as it can get very heavy if I overload it. Don't want to break the WFE or blow a seal. I use my bucket for work on my hay barns with 20 foot doors and eaves. Lot safer with the bucket as a work space than a ladder. I always shut the tractor off and vacate the cab so someone doesn't move the joystick.

Those were good for breaking off the studs on the axle housing. Local welding shop didn't like us trying to remove them and making things worse before bringing it into him to get the broken studs out. I like my 148 on my 4020PS now but wish I had a 158. I have been pretty hard on the hood with it.
