When splitting a 2020 at the clutch, would you put the stands at the plate between the engine and bellhousing, where a loader would bolt to? If not, where? I can"t tell if that plate/loader mounting casting comes loose when I remove all the big bolts.

The PTO function of my 2-stage clutch isn"t disengaging at all, so I"m suspecting a seized or rusted plate.

Thanks

Yes you can use the side frames if you don"t plan on removing the adapter housing,,I some times use a nylon sling and a floor crane on the little tractors, wedge a couple 2X4"s between the frame and the front axle..wrapping the sling around the rear portion of the engine...

Ok thanks! One more question before I actually get in in two pieces: where's the best place to disconnect the hydraulic lines? At the pump or where they go into the transmission? Looking at the parts diagram it looks like where they go into the transmission is a check valve.

Thank you very much Jim & Tim. Ive got the clutch on the bench now. It has been very recently rebuilt (previously unknown to me). I guessing the PTO clutch disk is stuck to something. I've run the square baler stationary with the pedal blocked down and it didn't break loose.

I'll probably be back later with a few more questions!

Does your pedal have a little strap that may need removed to get into the deeper position???

Which hole is the bolt in parts key #3???

The bolt is in the bottom hole. Clutch linkage rod pin is through the top hole. (Is that right?)

The pedal would go down all the way. Traction clutch would engage/disengage in the top 2 inches of travel. The PTO friction disk had clearly not moved based on the slight rust on the inside.

The rust pattern on parts 10 & 12 led me to believe that the PTO clutch has never been used/disengaged. "Raybestos" is still visible on the friction material.

It's been a long time since I've been around a JD utility tractor but there's a way of changing clutch pedal linkage to by-pass pto clutch and also lower clutch pedal. I think yours is correct
