Yesterday I attended a sale just north of Tulsa,OK that had about 8-9 old John Deeres...Heres the prices for the best ones..

1-Nice running B JD with spoke front wheels $1100

2-Non running B JD painted gray $500

3-Running A JD #615584 $1000

4-Non running late A JD with rusty hood and free motor # 669128 $550

There were 4-5 more A's and B's that went for scrap at around $300 each..

There were about 75 tractors there and prices were soft..If you want to see what I bought go to the Massey forum..

thanks alot for the pictures and prices of the john deeres. It really helps to keep up with the market value of iron thats selling currently. A pat on the back for you and your time.

If one prices the cost of labor and materials/paint/parts to restore any of those , those prices are none too low. You will have easily over $3000 into even the best one. Since hardly anyone actually uses these tractors to work with , then collecting/restoring would probably be the reason for purchase. Parting out would be a break even at anything past the $500 mark. A nicely re-furbed styled B or A can be had for $3500. That first pic of the B would be about right for a nice original looking tractor to leave as is and use. He's the only one that got a deal.

I would liked to have either of the A's.I wished there was a sale like that in my neck of the woods.

What you say is true.... BUT not everyone is interested in complete restorations, and some people find it easier to spend a little here and there over time and fix up vs having to pony up bigger money right then. Plus you have the enjoyment of doing your own work
