That is a model 60 or 70. They share most of the same parts. The only way to know for sure is to go to the JD parts web site and search model 70, subsection 1598 (chain saws in general)and then find something, say the part number for the cylinder jug and check that against yours.

Looks like my 60V except the top cover that is black on your saw is yellow on mine with black letering.

I think the 60 and 70 are the same except for bore and/or stroke.

i have several saws, all of them taking diferent chains so i mark what chain it takes on em. this saw takes a d70 chain.
