I am new to the forum , but need some help with my new to me 2630 the tractor has a dealer rebuilt motor , about 1500hrs on it,runs and starts great but runs about 20 lb,s low on oil pressure, j have been told to check pump o rings cam ,crank, and main bearings , when the tractor warms up the oil pressure drops to35 at feld rpm , and at idle the oil light comes on ,have to keep fast idle just wornding if any one could give me any other thoughts or suggestions , this is a great tractor and I would like to fix this problem everything else works great,it is the optional Hyd pto with the high low shift on the left side of dash..thanks for any and all thoughts on this matter .

Danny. If you can I would check your oil pressure with a
known working accurate gauge. If the known gauge reveals
the same. The I would guess it would be main or rod
bearings or maybe both. Remove oil pan and plasti-gage all
bearings. Good luck.

It's possible that the balancer shafts bushings were overlooked on the overhaul.

Thanks for the reply , that"s what I thought , but it"s supposed to have a rebuilt engine , think I will start with that and the oil pump kit as well, and see what it does . Thanks

As previously stated. Install a known working calibrated
pressure gauge.
Drain and fill with straight 50 weight Shell Rotela .
Odds are the dealer rebuild was the economy version. New
sleeves because the owner never changed the coolant.
O'rings , gaskets pand bolt it back together.

It is an old rebuild before I bought it , didn't know about the pressure until fixed the oil light.

Yes the sleeves do look new, I'm sure the dealer just used the basic kit, and I don't know if that include the balance bushings.

Given the age of the tractor and the price/cost/value.
Just install an accurate robust gauge and keep an eye on the pressure. Run T1 50 weight. Install a new oil pump.
Not really worth major input unless everything else is in new pristine condition.
Given the obvious "care" the tractor had had previously. Make certain with a drain and flush that the trans/hydraulic is filled with Hy-Gard. Look for troubles both now and in a few hours trapped in the trans oil filter.
I'll bet the water pump pulley and alternator pulleys are 37+ years old and worn. If the belt is tightened enough to avoid slippage. The alternator and water pump bearings will soon fail.
1-800-522-7448 for the operator manuals. There is a grease fitting or two in vital areas that needs a wee dab now and again.
A $15 de-stroker screw and a coolant heater will ease winter starts. Don't use ether in those engines. They can't handle ether like a two stroke Detroit. Don't need broken piston rings.
