2030 With Known Issues

I went and looked at a 2030 with 146 loader and discovered what I believe to be the common rockshaft leak inside the trans, unknown to the seller (he knows now).

He rebuilt the engine this summer, no fuel pump work however and it leaked fuel somewhere on that side of the engine. 146 loader, needs new rear tires, appearance is fair to poor. Diff lock is inoperable (pedal wouldn't move)

Other than the rebuilt engine it would be nothing special at all. It functions but has no high selling points.

To me it's not worth much more than 5-5.5k just because of the work that needs done. Any other opinions on the price?

I would pass. There are better loader tractors out there for 5K.

If it looks bad on the outside it usually gets worse on the inside. I'd pass on it.

Problems are usually free.Its fixing them that gets spendy.Sounds like you need to keep looking.

5K would be high for that tractor. A real good clean JD 2020 will not bring much more than 5-6K these days. It being a loader tractor really takes away from the value.

Find another tractor and then put a loader on it. The tractor will not be so beat up that way.
