update on 4440 pto noise

well I found the problem. shield on pto gear came loose and one of the little tack welds they had on there is gone. rotating gears around to check and darn it one of the teeth on the pto drive gear on the two speed is missing a tooth.guess i will be splitting tommorow.

I have seen the shield stops break off and let the shield feed into the gears, it kills the engine so fast you near hit your head on the windshield...you will be pulling the two speed and the long pto shaft and working the gear up out,it can be a finger pincher, I have one out of a 4030 now.
