So I see this advertised alot- what is a side hill hitch? Whats different about it compared to a normal hitch, hows it work and whats it all entale?

Unless there is something used elsewhere that I have never seen, I would think that would be called a "Landing Lever"..
These are common on Mounted and Semi-Mounted Plows..

IF this is what you are referring to..

Any time you are turning--say, in Contour plowing,

As you crowd into a sweeping left turn, the front plow bottom tends to cut a wider slice.. for the Rt turn , the front bottom tends to cut a Narrower slice..
The "Landing Lever" can be set to increments of "Off-set" to the Hitch, to cause the plow to cut the correct width of cut..
Sure, this would also help when plowing across hillsides..

Ron..

Sidehill hitches are very common here. Basically, the bracket that connects the lower 3 point hitch arms are made to slide side-to-side with a hydraulic cylinder. When you're plowing a sidehill, you can shift the plow 8 inches up the hill to get maximum cut.

See the two tabs in the pic? picture a hydraulic cylinder in there
