2030 jd split behind the gear shifters

Hello, wondering if anyone can help with this question. I have a JD 2030 year is 1973 that I split just behind the gear shifters or transmission. When you split there if you look at it toward the rear (where you split it or opposite of the shifters) you have a 4 bolt bearing support, which I'm attempting to remove. I took out 4 bolts and it loosened maybe 1/4 inch and then I cannnot get it out further. Is this a tough thing to remove? Is there a easy way or trick? Does it have a shaft that is making it difficult that goes to the rockshaft area? I wanted to take out and clean out a bit.

Maybe one of these is the one you're referring to.

If it is like Txjim's lower picture you have to remove the snap rings (18 and 19) and tap the shafts through the bearings.

Thanks both Cliff and Jim, both helped me realize the snap rings are probably what is yet holding it on, at least I hope. The bottom picture is the accurate picture, and I just wasn't sure about snap rings. Hoping I get those off, WHAT would you suggest replacing since it is opened up? Thanks again and wish me luck Joe R.

What were the symptoms necessitating dis-assembly??

The reason for the split was due to the other side or under the shifters. I had 1 line that had a hole rubbed through it, thus I had to split and since I had it opened up, I thought I would clean up a bit. The snap rings are tough to get off. Any idea of what maybe I should replace since I have it opened up? Thanks, Joe R.

Were the only symptoms to clean up. No grinding or unusual noises? Did all gears work correctly?

Yes, just to clean up. I'm not sure about all gears working. The shifters were worn so bad that I could pull one out. I think it was due to forcing it due to that worn line in there not giving it oil to shift easily. Thanks
