51 b leaking antifreeze

i bought a 51 b a little while back, had to put a upper water pipe on it,filled it up with half and half antifreeze and water,fired it up today,ran it for about a hour, temp got up to almost 220, radiator was still cool, seems to not have any flow there at all, then pulled it in my shop and shut it off, seen a drip on the floor. looks to be a drip from the block real close to where it bolts up to the case. seen a wet spot and can't see a crack, is my block junk or what do i need to do.
 

That drip is not the reason you have no circulation in the cooling system..

Check..the Radiator Core may be plugged...

What did the old coolant look like, that came out of it..?
Coolant should flow freely, as soon as the engine starts to warm up..
You DID pre-Mix the antifreeze and Water, didn't you..?
These old Thermo-Syphon cooling systems will not operate if the two are poured in separately..

But, I think you have other problems with yours..

I have never been able to get my 51 B over 170 even with the shutters closed on a hot summer day. I would first flush the radiator. When I pulled the drain plug on mine, it was full of iron deposits and "stuff". A garden hose running into the cap and allowed to run on the ground, cleared it out in a hurry. As far as a crack, you are going to need to look really close at sealing surfaces and try to track where its coming from. With the expansion of the mixture, you should have seen some overflow running out if you filled it cold.
 
Either its not mixed, not full, or your plugged up. Only 3a options. Remove lower hose. Check radiator & head for blockage. It needs to be FULL in order to circulate.
 
i went in the shop this morning and drained the system, put it back in and it is doing fine ,must have not been mixed good enough, thanks for all the help, billy
