'45 B Carb problems

I have been working painting a '45 B and I got together far enough Saturday to get it running again. It has been about 8 months since its last ran.
When I got it running it wont idle unless it had 1/2 choke. I pulled the carb a part, took out all brass threaded plugs and nozzle and soaked in a bucket of Berryman carb cleaner over night. Ran a wire, sprayed carb cleaner and compressed air in all passages. I assembled the carb last night, still needs choke to idle. Going to pull the carb off again tonight to give it another cleaning. I'm out of ideas, is there something I'm missing.

Make sure that the orifices are all open in addition to the passages. There are two idle orifices right beside the inboard butterfly valve which need to be clear for it to run right.

Also, make sure you have a good gasket on the inboard side.

Our 46A "Easy" also needed about 1/4 choke to idle.

Replaced the gasket between the carb and manifold and problem was solved.

you can soak it Berryman till the cows come home...like posted be sure to get the secret passages all clear...use the drill per advise...there are plenty of diagrams where to clean...

Got #40 and 53 bits and ran them through the idle circuits. That did the trick!
Thank you!
