Looking for ideas on how to find a loader bucket for a John Deere 158 loader. Bought a nice JD 4450 with a 158 loader and bale spike but no bucket. Have tried to find one on craigslist, YTAG ads, ebay, tractor house, 3 dealers, local auctions, farm equipment headhunters etc. Even put my brother in Missouri on the lookout at local farm auctions and newspapers. Guess it is like anvils, staplers, drawbars, centerlinks, etc, they just disappear into a giant blackhole. Most people around here in east Texas run around with a big bale spear and not one servicable bucket for sale. Aftermarkets buckets are about $2000 and you have to weld on your own brackets for you particular model. Anyone know if a 260 bucket would fit on a 158 model? Need more rain soon so I can bale somemore hay and get to use my hay spear. Need help...I"m loader underemployed.

They hayspear.com they build spears and buckets for about everything ag. Give them a call and they will build it a ship it. I usually order components from them and then build my own attachments, but I usually don't save any money, because it it calls for 3/16 I use 1/4. I can't stand something hanging on the front of my tractor that is bent, or not strait, so I over do it a little. We also handle silage bales and they are hard on bale spears.

I have talked to them about a dual pto setup a couple of months ago but did not think about calling them about the bucket. Thanks for the tip....I"ll give them a call.

My opinion is get an adapter to convert it to skid steer equipment. New skid steer bucket from JD was 900 a little over a year ago.

Any welding shop can make one.I'm in ohio, but there's several shops around here that make buckets for around 700.
