2510 gasser plugs for electronic ignition

I switched my 2510 over to an electronic ignition. Have been running autolite 64's at a .45 gap with decent luck, but I'm having trouble restarting when the motor is hot. Wonder if a different plug would help, any body have any suggestions? [/list]

dont know what kind of electronic.ignition you installed, but if it is just the pickup in the dist. then you need not change plugs.your timing might be off a tad.even if you changed the coil you probably should use the same plugs

It's a high voltage coil and top end of the distributor. The point of it was to get away from the autolites, the foul out pretty easily with my tenpermental carb. Was trying to buy some leeway in the carb.
It's the ignitor brand ignition.
What's the easiest way to check the timing, tractor runs pretty well when it actually runs, it's just tough to get it going at first and if it takes too long, the carb floods. I'm going to tweak the float a little as I know it's just under the 1/4" callout in the manual.

Is anyone running anything other than autolite 64's?

Had the same issues. When you say hard to restart when hot, is the engine turning over normally or turning over slowly? My issue wasn"t spark/plugs/coil, but starter itself turning slowly and hydaulic pump pressure, so rebuilding starter and cleaning up connections did the trick.

As for the carb, us too on the flooding issue. Had intake tube full of gas. So, pulled carb apart and tweaked the float so it shot off fuel flow sooner. This solved the flooding problem. For whatever reason, we still need to apply a little choke even when engine is hot to restart.

I'll have to try the starter rebuild, it's zapping my battery like it's going out of style I just figured it was par for the course. Did you have to use a kit, or just a tear down, clean up and put back together?
I know the carb is a smidge off, I didn't realize it was so tenpermental.

Thanks for the tips!

Just tried the steering wheel wiggle and that helped the starter a ton!
The carb flooding has it misfiring, plus I need to check thr timing, I know a spring is broken in the dizzy so that can't help, ordered a new dizzy and they sent the wrong one, guess i'll rig spmething up instead.

Anyway starter can wait, the steering wheel trick works great, next step is dialing in the carb.
