10 and 20 series Hi Crops in Louisiana?

Hello all,

I'm trying to find a nice condition 10 or 20 series hi crop tractor. Are these tractors still able to be found and bought? I'd like to take a drive down to Louisiana to try to find one of these tractors. Kinda like the stories I hear from these older collectors that would just drive around to find things.

I don't live in Louisiana nor have I ever been there but I was just wondering, from some locals possibly, if my idea is unreasonable because these tractors are as rare as hens teeth and have all been bought up.

Thanks.

I've got a restored 1972 model 4020 high crop
i've been thinking of selling. There were only 54 built in 1972.

20 series are hard to find ... if someone has
one they rarely get rid of it ! ... great tractors ... see one show up in Idabel,OK.
every once in a while... have seen them here
in south LA. and east TX. .... good luck...

I don't know about the rarity of these tractors, but maybe they are not as rare as some think. Did you check the photo ads (left column)? There are two 2010s there right now.

If you go to Louisiana travel the west side of the Atchafalaya basin from Alexandria south through the towns of Marksville, Bunkie, Palmetto and on through Acadiana on 167 until you hit highway 90 and then follow 90 through the lower sugar cane country. You will see plenty of old equipment and a lot of small dealers and equipment yards, most anybody will talk to you and one of them might know where a tractor is for sale. The Louisiana market bulletin is published online every 14 days but by the time it gets online the good stuff is sold. You can get the bulletin mailed to your house for around $15.00 a year out of state.

Can you tell me a bit more about this machinery bulletin? Where do I go to get it? Thanks for the great info.

I don't know how to post a link -- google ''Louisiana market bulletin'' and it will take you to the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry link -- click on ''current market bulletin'' they keep it a few weeks behind online to give the subscribers first shot at any deals, you can print a subscription form off the site and it is $10.00 a year. Other states that I know have farm market bulletins with equipment listings are Florida, Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi, you can link to any of these bulletins by googling either the state name and market bulletin or farm market bulletin or by going to the the individual states agriculture department web site and linking to the bulletins.

I live in Lafayette, LA. There was tractor boneyard in Franklin, right on highway 90 - forgot the name of the place. They had a 2010 high crop - it was a chassis sitting on the ground - no tires or rims - it was probably missing other parts too. They had it in a special fenced in area, separate from the main boneyard. I took a couple of pictures of it that I have stored away somewhere. Anyway, about six or seven years ago, the boneyard went out of business and I believe it was auctioned off. I did not attend the auction. Other than that I have not seen any 10 series high crops around here. I suscribe to the LA market bulletin for the last several years, but have not seen any in there either. Suscribe to the Market Bulletin and then put a "wanted" ad in there (if you are a subscriber, the ad is free). Good luck

Thanks for the help guys, seems like they are still in use in California too. I have found an older 30 series in very straight condition so we will see how that goes.

I found the photos of the 2010 hi crop in the bone yard. Its not too pretty. That"s the only 2010 hi crop I"ve seen around here. Not sure what ultimately happened to it. I have the 1010 Deere manual SM-2033 on pdf if you need it. Can email! Thanks J. Stewart
