1020 hydraulic knock

I recently bought a nice looking 1020 diesel. When I bought the tractor the previous owner told me the hydraulic pump had been recently rebuilt. Problem is I hear a ticking/rattle coming from the pump. The noise sounds a lot like a shaft hitting something.

I have looked to see that everthing is tight from the install and that I have enough hyd oil.. When using a mechanics stehoscope the noise is definetly coming from the pump but is deafining when i put the scope against the suction line but not so loud when placed against the pump. Now for the part that must mean something??? The chatter is constant and continues when I lower the 3 point arms but stops during the time it takes the arms to travel up. (The arms operate fine... Not sluggish or slow.)

Any ideas would appreciated since I would like to have this ready to use a a rake tractor this coming hay season.

Are you sure it's not the rubber gromets in the coupler to the crank? Or the lack of them?

Good idea.... Never checked them. Do you know an easy way to do that? It"s pretty tough to see or get to.

You'll have to take that plate off the bottom so you can get ahold of it and try to wiggle it.

We have a 2130 that had a similar knock. One day we finally
changed the long overdue hydraulic filter an the knock went
away. I figure it was the filer bypass valve opening and
closing so much.

There is also a wee screen filter in the front pump inlet.
I'll try and find the part number for it and the screens for the larger pumps tonight.
