I'm rebuilding a pump from a 1020 that had weak to no hydraulics (see haunted hydraulics thread from last week). The symptoms were good standby pressure (2250psi) with no demand, 0 psi with any sudden oil demand.

The crankcase inlet pin was very likely stuck (considering how hard it was to remove! 2 days of soaking in liquid wrench), so I'm leaning towards that being the problem. However, for good measure I'm inspecting the stroke control valve. My question: Is the wear I'm seeing on my stroke control valve guide normal (attached photo)? The actual end that contacts the valve seems find, should I be concerned with replacing it? What are the grooves indicative of?
