71 degrees today in SW, Ohio. Sure was nice today for the 2nd week of November. Decided to rake up some scrub grass that was severely drought damaged and not worth baling. I plan to bushog the windrows to mince it up nicely so it does not casue me problems next year.

Anway, Snapped two pics around sunset before my camera battery died and thought you might enjoy them.

The tractor is relatively new to me (purchased in August) and is a 1950 John Deere A with Yetter Power Steering and live hydraulic pump option behind the magneto. The Hay rake is a 1938 John Deere model 594 hay rake and is one of two that I own for my hobby hay operation. I have totally refurb'd it and pics of the rake have been previously posted here on YT.

Enjoy

Ditto on the rake, What do you bale with? I have a 1993 vhs video of a long hood "A" pulling a steel wheel Allis Chalmers side delivery rake up a slight grade. What a beautiful sound. I converted the vhs to DVD and am waiting to put the short video (about 45 seconds) on UTube. Just don't have the technology yet.

Bale with a New Holland 65 compact baler. I have not used the JD A yet on the baler as I have only had it a short time.

Since you liked the rake, Here is my other rake that I refurb'd a few years ago. It is around a 1948 or so. This one is my road rake. The home-brew steel wheels being smooth travel better on pavement than the factory JD wheels which have cleats.

Here is also an update showing my home-brew conversion of the rear wheels to steel. I am not much of a fabricator, but I have to admit that these turned out rather nice. No more flats for me.
