Im ready to remove the governor from my G during restoration, is there any timing marks or any timing I have to be alert of before i take it off the housing and cam gear? and screw anything up without knowing it?

The best thing to do is document everything as you take it apart. Also take pictures and mark everything with a center punch so you don't have to rely on memory when you put it back together.

There should be 2 visable ( V )"s one of the
governer drive gear & one on the cam shaft gear,
I"ve never had a G apart bit on other 2cylinders
every 3 revolutions the marks line up.

If you look in the service manual the procedure is listed . The cam is timed to the crank when the left hand exhaust valve open mark is lined up and the valve is opening. then you time the governor to the crank. No need for marks . most don't have them and, you should recheck by the book anyway.Paul

The left front bolt that holds the governor to the main case is supposed to be a special shoulder bolt.
Assuming the crankshaft and camshaft are in time, the SAE standard is that when the Flywheel LH impulse is at 3 o"clock, the slots for the magneto drive are to be horizontal.
This works even if the cam to governor timing marks are not there.
