5075E, 5083E, 5075M

Looking at buying a new JD and looking at the 3 tractors above. With the loader and MFWD, I can buy the 5075E for about 30k, 5083E 40K, and haven't got a price on the 5075M, but I am guessing it will be more than 5083E. I will use the tractor to work arena, move round bales and snow. I currently have a 2640 and want a little more hp. I don't really want a cab, but I like the transmission better in the 5083E than the 5075E. The engine in the 5075E is 3 cylinder, 5083E 4 cylinder and 5075M is 5 cylinder. HP for the 5075 E and M are the same. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance, Chad

5075E is lots or tractor, save your money. Unless of course you have operated tractors in a blizzard with and without a cab.

I was unaware that JD had a 5 cylinder engine. Can anyone explain the advantage of a 5 cyl over a 4 or 6 cyl.?

Smooth than a four and without the balancer shaft hassles of $$$ to make, drive and use up room in the
block. Shorter/cheaper than a six to fit into a
short chassis.
Also baffles the daylights out of anybody not
expecting to see one. Was looking at a GM under the
hood for a little while before figuring out what was
odd.
