Just curious and can"t remember.....is a 4030 a 540 or 1000 rpm? Or both?

4030's are both 540/1000 pto rpm's but a 1000 stub shaft wasn't supplied with tractor when new. I know I owned one a few years back that my Dad bought new.

Some 4030's were ordered as 540 RPM only. I have one of them. The storage hole has a large plug, similar to a large freeze plug installed in it.

i'd say both should be a snapring holds it in and snapring hold the other right in the back

The alternate shaft should be stored above and to the left of the shaft in use, just below the toplink anchor. if it isn't there, sometning better be plugging the hole in the rear end housing..... .....
