Hello, just wanted to thank those who helped me with my questions. After spending some time talking to JD dealer, and looking at their computer pics, I removed the outgoing hose on my Model 8 backhoe valve....no threaded port inside to plug = no way to run on closed center system ( darn )
Just thought I would give the results of my experiment...those who helped me know what I'm talking about.
On a different note, the 1020 started running rich missing and now will not start...check fuel system, carb apart..plugs out, runs briefly, now won't start at all. These are times when these old machines drive me nuts!

Buickanddeere, unfortunatly mine is a 2 hose system...Don"t see where any plug could go...unless one could change the in/out body only, before the rest of the stack?

some have a plug "beside" the return port, you remove a short plug and install a longer plug that converts the valve to a closed system,,but not all of them have this option...

I converted my #10A backhoe which uses the same/similar valve from open to closed. Just put the "plug" in where the third hose was attached and she works great.

Item #9 AT53853 KIT 1 CLOSED CENTER (2150, 2350)
