I'm in the process of straightening a hood for a customer at work and the front of the hood is in bad shape(looks like it was used as a battering ram). It has been fixed once before and welded now the metal is in sad shape and it doesn't fit the tractor right anymore. I was wondering if they make a replacement piece for the front of the hood? One that I could weld in like a rust repair panel you would get for a car or truck. Any info would be great!!

The hoods from Abilene Machine are junk. Do not fit right at all. Had a customer buy two and returned them both. Try the hood dolly from Suhndal. They are the only way to get the right angle back.

you can get new hoods for 800 (was the price someone listed few months ago when this issue came up then). I think it was Abilene machine that had them. Someone mentioned some places sell fiberglass ones, but was said that Abilene's were metal.

It may be to far gone for this but there is an outfit that makes dollys to reshape the front edge of those hoods. They have an ad in green magazine.
